Alan Cherry – Internal Audit
I have been working for Partnership since July 2009. In my career to date I have completed an Audit of IT Backup and Disaster recovery which included visiting our third-party off-site media storage company Iron Mountain in Wapping.
As part of the audit I visited the Redhill office to have a look around the server room regarding control measures over the environment and security, as well as meeting some of the staff in the Risk team and IT.
As part of my induction I went through the Computer Based Training and product modules and attended the business awareness day which was a valuable insight into a number of different business areas which I would not normally be able to obtain in the course of my day to day job.
The business, whilst growing rapidly, is still of a size where you can still get to know everyone up to the CEO. There are a lot of new people so the pace of change is rapid and there is a good working environment and people are responsive to change. The people I have worked with to date, which has principally been IT, have been very supportive in respect of the audit I performed and responsive to suggestions and ideas for improvement. Partnership provides a welcoming environment for new staff and is supportive of their needs to develop an awareness of the business and individual development.
I have really enjoyed working with the Internal Audit team and risk and the great support I have received since joining Partnership. It has also been good working with IT and developing working relationships that will help me work effectively with business areas in the future and make my job more enjoyable.
