Finance
The key responsibilities of the Finance team include:
- Daily payments
- Treasury control
- Monthly accounts
- Payroll and staff expenses
- Purchase ledger
- Ensuring financial controls are adequate and operating efficiently
- Monthly KPI and other board information
- Annual Statutory accounts
- Regulatory returns and monitoring
- Setting and monitoring budgets
- Financial forecasting
The department contributes to the success of the business in a number of ways, for example ensuring that we have sufficient financial controls in place and that these are operating as they should be. We also provide key information to Management to enable them to make timely and effective business decisions. We ensure that we operate within the financial regulations set by the FSA and other regulatory bodies. We calculate how profitable and financially sound the business is. Of course, most importantly, we ensure everyone is paid on time.
We require that anyone who wishes to work in the department is either qualified or is studying towards qualification with a recognized accounting body, for example ACCA, CIMA or the Institute of Chartered Accountants. We provide study assistance and leave to help students through their exams.
