Risk & Compliance
As a Financial Services firm operating within the UK, Partnership must be Authorised by the Financial Services Authority. To maintain this authorisation, the Risk & Compliance Department ensures that the Partnership Group complies with the FSA’s rules and associated legal requirements. Key strands of the departments activities within Partnership relate to education, ensuring that confidence is maintained in the firm via an effective Systems and controls regime, protecting consumers and reducing scope for financial crime.
The Department is an integral part of the business. We work closely with other departments to ensure that any compliance or legal issues are identified at an early stage. The philosophy adopted is one of education and ensuring the Business gets it right first time. A comprehensive monitoring programme operates to provide the reassurance to both the business and the regulators that we continue getting it right on an ongoing basis.
The breadth of issues addressed within such a relatively small department are significant. The nature of qualifications recognised mirrors and compliments this diversity. The current department consists of a small number of highly qualified (post graduate level) staff who hold, legal, risk and compliance qualifications. In addition, industry knowledge is essential as evidenced by holders of such relevant qualifications such as the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Associate of the Charter Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.
Working for this department within a medium sized firm like Partnership allows you to make a real difference. You’ll be working within a firm that is a significant player within its target markets in the UK. However you’ll retain the diversity and breadth of issues in your work such as Anti Money laundering, Business Continuity, Data Protection, Training & Competence, Financial Promotions approval, Treating Customers Fairly, Risk analysis, Systems & Controls etc . This means you just never know what interesting challenge or query you’ll face on a day to day basis.
