The minimum loan is £25,000. Current annual equivalent interest rate is 7.65%. The overall cost for comparison is 7.7%APR (typical).
There are no arrangement, completion or valuation fees
Inheritance Protection Option – If you choose to release less than the maximum available to you we will guarantee that a percentage of your property’s value will be protected for inheritance
You don't have to make any repayments in your lifetime.
You can apply for additional borrowing ('further advances') of £10,000 or more after 6 months if you wish. See 'Can I borrow more money at a later date?' for further details.
You continue to own your own home and can live there until you die or go into long term residential care.
When you die or go into long term residential care the loan plus interest and charges will need to be repaid - usually from the sale of the property.
A 'No Negative Equity Guarantee' means that the amount repaid (including accrued interest, charges and all sale costs) will never be greater than the sale proceeds - no matter what happens to interest rates or house prices. So there's no risk of passing on any debt to your family.
You can repay the loan at any time but there may be an Early Repayment Charge.
