World and Olympic Champion, Rebecca Romero, is helping enhanced annuity, care and equity release specialists, Partnership, to launch the “Partnership Athlete Scheme’, which will provide mentoring and financial support to four young aspiring athletes in Surrey, where Partnership has offices.

The initiative was launched at Rebecca’s old school in Wallington, Surrey. The four athletes will be selected by a panel of judges from a short list of 16 and the winning athletes will be individuals who are best suited to become ambassadors for the County and for whom the funding and mentoring will make a real difference.

Jane Kennedy, chief operating officer, Partnership, commented :
“We are a large employer in the Redhill area and firmly believe in supporting local talent."

This Scheme endorses the fact that we think it is very important to give back to the local community and, at the same time, help young aspiring athletes to achieve their aims. We are also committed to this Scheme because we believe those athletes embody the values of the many talented people who work at Partnership – who are focused, results orientated, determined and self motivated.

It is fantastic to have Rebecca Romero on board with Partnership supporting this initiative. We couldn’t think of a better champion to represent this scheme.”

Rebecca Romero, MBE, World and Olympic Gold Medallist, commented:
“I can tell you from experience that training to be the best at your sport takes a lot of hard work and dedication. This extra funding will help young athletes who would otherwise struggle to compete.”
